We were in Mt. Hope, Alabama with our church, Journey Church of Jackson, TN, cleaning up from the Tornado destruction. Where we were, you could see a lot of damage. It was bad, just like Joplin, MO. They got some press, but not as much as Joplin. I feel for these guys. Click the photo to see the rest of the pictures. I only had about 5 minutes to take some photos from the car since we worked all day.

I was able to shoot alot of photos for the Mother Daughter Dance for Journey Church in Jackson, TN. It was A LOT of fun. I only added a few portraits from this because I obtain specific permission prior to placing my photos online.

The Altared Visions Photography team of Jackson, TN just recently went to Asheville, NC to enjoy the North Carolina Mountains. There was alot of hiking and waterfalls. It was a really cool vacation. I actually tracked most of our hikes with my Garmin 20, so here are the links (you can download the .gpx data for your GPS device) so you can see where we went. Most of the stuff below is in the order that we went.

This is the almost full vertical hike we took up Chimney Rock.
This one we walked to the peak of Mt. Mitchell and then the Basalm Nature Trail where I found a lost benchmark.
The same day we stopped at the overlook at Craggy Gardens.
Hooker Falls, Triple Falls, and High Falls Hikes (in that order).
We went to Looking Glass Falls which wasn't a hike, just some steps.
For Second Falls Hike.
For Moore Cove Falls Hike.
For Slick Rock Falls Hike.
The Children loved Tweetsie Railroad. The train ride was pretty awesome.
The Walk we took for the Asheville Urban Trail.
For our Tom's Creek Fall's Hike. (My wife's favorite because of all the minerals and quartz)
For the walking that we did to pick apples at the orchard.
For Crabtree Falls Hike.
For a North Carolina Blue Ridge Parkway and Pisgah National Forest Autumn color drive.

I was in NC this past week for a funeral, "May she rest in peace." On the way back to TN from NC, we decided to go the scenic route. Christmas in Jackson, TN

The holidays were fun this year. We had tons of people over for christmas eve dinner. I love all of those guys that came over, but I was glad for that dinner to be over with. Not that it wasn't fun, but very exhausting. We used our old christmas tree, but used some new ornaments and ribbon:

We had our son, Gabriel, that evening write a letter to Santa Clause, telling him that he needed to be careful, and that he was a good boy this year. We left him some cookies and milk as well.

The next morning he woke up and saw that Santa had eaten the cookies and drank the milk. Santa also wrote a letter back telling him to be good.

The children had a massive amount of toys this year. It made a huge mess!

Christmas in Nashville, TN

Two weeks Prior to Christmas, we took our son to see Santa Clause at Bass Pro Shop in Nashville, TN. It was pretty fun. While the parents stood in line, they had lots of free remote control cars, train sets and laser guns for the children to play with. WOW! They were really thinking.

After that we saw the nativity that they had set up at the Opry Hotel. It's a bummer that I couldn't cross the ropes so I could actually see the nativity. I couldn't see it at all, so I just had to take some photos around it.
